About

WHAT IS CFM PHILIPPINES?

The Christian Family Movement (CFM) is an international movement of families called to witness to Christ, to be evangelized and to evangelize families and communities through its family and life programs. Established in 1956, CFM Philippines is the first and oldest family life organization in the Philippines. It is under the guidance of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) through the Episcopal Commission on the Family Life (ECFL) and Episcopal Commission on the Laity (ECL).

It is a member of the International Confederation of Christian Family Movements (ICCFM)

CFM is parish-based and participates fully, not only in family and life programs but in other activities of the parish/vicariate/diocese/area.

Membership is by family. The members are organized into units. Five to seven families and a chaplain or gabay in a parish form a unit with a unit leader couple. The units in a parish are headed by a parish chair-couple, vice chair, treasurer and secretary.

The CFM units in the parishes within a particular diocese are headed by a Diocesan Director-couple, vice chair, treasurer and secretary.

The various dioceses in the country are divided into ten areas headed by the Area Vice President, Assistant vice president, treasurer and secretary.

CFM Philippines is governed by a Board of Trustees with 13 members. The national officers are the president-couple, president-elect couple, treasurer-couple, secretary-couple, auditor-couple. It is under the spiritual direction by a national chaplain.

The members of the Board of Trustees and the national officers serve for a term of two years.
